As an immigrant with experience and a deep passion for the startup world, Elisabeth brings a unique perspective and unwavering dedication to helping founders succeed. She has been a cheerleader for founders for years, and her joy for supporting them shines through in everything she does. The team is overjoyed to have her on board and looks forward to working together to support immigrant entrepreneurs on their journey to building successful companies.
Based in Los Angeles, Elisabeth will focus on sourcing and representing Unshackled in LA and utilizing her network in Europe. As part of her role, she will be analyzing companies and helping to make investment decisions. With her strong background in entrepreneurship and her passion for making the startup ecosystem more inclusive and diverse, we can’t wait to see the impact Elisabeth will make at Unshackled Ventures.

As an immigrant myself, this opportunity means the world to me. My experiences as an immigrant have given me a unique perspective and empathy toward others, and it’s a privilege to help other immigrant founders make their dreams a reality.
A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Germany and am half-Korean. At 16, I packed my bags and embarked on an adventure to the United States after living in Germany my whole life. Navigating a new country and culture was no easy feat (especially as a teenager!), but it taught me the importance of resilience and determination.
I started my career in Human Resources but quickly realized that entrepreneurship was my true calling. I spent countless evenings networking my way through startup events after work, poring over TechCrunch articles during my lunch breaks, and listening to every startup podcast I could get my hands on. Soon enough, I was hooked on the fast-paced and thrilling startup world! This newfound passion led me to Grid110 in 2019, a startup accelerator in Los Angeles, where I worked with over 270+ early-stage companies for the next 4 years.
My passion for diversity, inclusion, and gender equity in the startup ecosystem has also led me to become involved with various nonprofits and hold leadership roles with Girls in Tech, Lean In, and the United Nations Women’s Committee. Currently, I am on the Steering Committee of All Raise Los Angeles, where I’m focused on supporting female founders and funders. And let’s not forget my hobbies! When I’m not making things happen in the startup world, you can usually find me strolling on the beach, scouring the aisles at H-Mart for my favorite Korean snacks, or visiting cats at the local animal shelter.
I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to join the amazing team at Unshackled Ventures. They are not only smart and talented investors but also kind, compassionate, and inspiring human beings to work with.
